API Keys
API keys authorize requests to the Crosshatch API. Here's what you need to know about managing and using your API keys:
Multiple Keys: You can create as many API keys as you need. This flexibility allows you to manage access across different projects or environments.
Use Cases for Multiple Keys: Developers often use different keys for various purposes:
Separating development, staging, and production environments
Tracking usage for different applications or features
Managing access for team members
Key Management:
Copy Key: Use the copy icon (📋) next to each key to easily copy the full API key to your clipboard.
View Key: Click the eye icon (👁️) to reveal the full API key if needed.
Key Security: Always keep your API keys secure and never share them publicly. If a key is compromised, you can delete it and create a new one.
Bring Your Own Key (Coming Soon): We plan to introduce a feature allowing you to use your own provider keys from services like OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Together, Fireworks, Hugging Face, and others. This will offer more flexibility in how you integrate Crosshatch with your existing AI infrastructure.
Remember to rotate your keys periodically as a security best practice, especially when team members change or if you suspect a key has been compromised.
